NCM Crisis Care Kits

Your District NMI Council is continually working on emergency responses to the various national and international Natural Disasters occurring around the world. The primary way in which we work is through assembling Crisis Care Kits (CCK). The kits created here in SoCal have gone to places like Belize, Dominican Republic, Greensburg, KS, Haiti, Jamaica, Jordan, Louisiana, Philippines, Senegal, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, and Zambia. Our district has even been the recipient of hundreds of Crisis Care Kits from the USA/Canada Region in the past.

We recently collected several hundred CCKs to assist in the wake of the 2017 August/September hurricanes and Mexican earthquake. The event consisted of individual churches creating the CCKs, dropping them off at a local drop-off point, and volunteers driving a UHaul truck packed with kits up the Sacramento donation center. You can see the progression in the pictures below.

If your church would like to participate, we have a very specific, detailed manual which will direct you how to assemble a CCK. (You can find it HERE.) In addition, each Crisis Care Kit needs to be placed in a banana box, 6 to a box. You can get banana boxes at Smart & Final, Costco, and most grocery stores.

When you know how many banana boxes you will have, please call, text, or email Brenda Ritchie [(951) 692-1190  or]. The SoCal NMI Council will have detailed information for local drop-off locations and dates early next week.

Please check out the CCK directions and information on this link:

  • 1 Shampoo (12 to 18 oz.)
  • 2 Bars of Soap (Bath size or larger)
  • 1 Toothpaste (4.0 to 6.4 oz.)
  • 3 Toothbrushes (in original packaging)
  • 1 Box of Bandaids (30 or more)
  • 1 Fingernail clipper
  • 1 Sturdy hair comb
  • 2 Hand towels
  • 4 Pocket-sized pkgs. Kleenex
  • 1 Beanie Baby-sized stuffed toy

Each Crisis Care Kit (CCK) should contain only the items/quantities listed.

Place all items into a 2-gallon zip-lock bag. Fill banana box with 6 CCK bags.

Thank you so much, in advance, for your generosity in this time of need
